PAPER MARBLING / SUMINAGASHI / EBRU


Producer Jim Kirchherr discovers the rare art of paper marbling - an old-fashioned way of making decorative sheets for the inside covers of books. Curtis Finley of Pacific, Missouri, is still one of the few people that marbles in his basement, using many different techniques and styles including the popular peacock and zebra designs. The St. Louis Mercantile Library at the University of Missouri even held an exhibit exclusively for this art.
