I DONT WANT TO DRIVE ANOTHER NAIL

Kelly about the Work - " It was done during a transitional time in my life. This work is entitled, "I Don't Want to Drive Another Nail." It is a portrait of Jesus, created out of wood and nails. A lot of people read the title and laugh. They take it literally, like I drove so many nails into this wood that I don't want to hammer one more. However, there is a deep symbolism connected to it. Everytime we sin, it's like we're driving another nail into the hands and feet of the Lord. He was an innocent man, willing to endure torture and suffering beyond imagine in order to save us from the penalty of our sin. He died for us so I will live for him. I don't want to drive another nail..."
